5 Tips To Enhance Your Beauty Sleep

We all know that sleep is the most important part in your beauty ritual, as your hydration will be rebalanced during some shuteye. But with our busy lives, some of us don’t always have the luxury of having a long sleep.

These 5 tips will give you back those beauty hours you’re missing.

Cleanse Skin

After a whole day of being busy, it’s important we cleanse our skin from all makeup before we hit the sack.

However, it’s likely that throughout the day you’ve worked up a sweat and that various pollutants from living in the city are sticking to your face. By clearing out all the dirt from your lines, you will give your skin the chance to repair itself, and combat any wrinkles that could potentially pop-up.

Also, by giving your skin a breather, serums and moisturisers will penetrate the skin better as there will be no residual makeup and dirt in the way.

Multi-Tasking Products

I think we’ve all heard of the Korean skincare routine by now, which consists of 12 steps each with its own specific product. However, if you’re not one to use dozen products, just purchase something that does multiple things at once.

It will get you sooner to bed too. Yas!

Hydrate & Moisturise

After cleansing and applying any desired skin treatments, make sure to moisturise your face to rebalance your hydration level. This can be done with cream, a sleeping mask or face oil.

When you have oily skin you might also want to go for some facial oil. While this might go against your very being (I know), oily skin can benefit from a dry oil. This is because your face feels it doesn’t have enough oil, and will therefore produce more of that shiny mess. In order to help balance your sebum production, tap on some of that holy liquid, such as Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

Give Yourself a Mini Facial

There are many benefits of a face massage. Next to it feeling amazing, you’ll not only get a firmer, clearer, and more glowing skin, but any puffiness and fine lines will be reduced as well.

The best time to give yourself a mini facial is during your moisturising step as the cream will function as a lubricant. This way your fingers will easily glide along your skin and will minimise the chances that you’ll accidentally tug or stretch your skin.

You could try out the Gua Sha, a Chinese massage tool that is not only used for firming and combating wrinkles, but it also has the added benefit of lymphatic drainage.

Massage Your Scalp

Try a scalp massage. It helps you unwind before bed AND encourages a healthy gloss on your locks. Scalp massage increases blood flood, and thus stimulates hair follicles, encouraging strands to reach their full growth potential.

You do this by massaging your scalp by moving the pads of your fingers along your scalp in slow and deep movements. Pin your hair up afterwards so the natural oils or any hair products on your strands won’t stick to your face, dirtying everything all over again.
What are you waiting for? Start that nightly ritual and quickly hop into bed, we at least need a few hours.
