If you’re all about a simple and au naturale skincare routine, Priyanka Chopra has you covered.
In a video series for Harper’s Bazaar, Little Black Book, Chopra reveals that her number one skincare secret is the traditional Indian face mask ‘Ubtan’.
Ubtan uses five simple ingredients to cleanse away dead skin cells, leaving your skin glowing and refreshed. And the best part? You can find all of these ingredients in your kitchen.
Chopra’s DIY Ubtan face mask:
- 2 tablespoons whole wheat flour (her mother, Madhu, makes it clear it needs to be whole wheat to exfoliate the skin)
- Pinch of turmeric
- Squeeze of lime juice
- 1 tablespoon full fat yogurt
- Enough rose water to create a paste
Simply mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl, apply to the face, leave for 15-20 minutes then gently rub off with a warm, damp cloth. Cleanse face afterwards to remove any residue and voila! Your skin will be glowing like Chopra’s in no time.

Alicia Keys’ age-defying complexion has been the envy of beauty enthusiasts everywhere, trying to discover her secrets to youthful skin.
In 2016, she announced to the world that she was ditching make-up all together, opting to go bare-faced on the red carpet despite the flashing cameras, bright lights and scrutiny of critics.
In a world where it’s expected that celebrities don a full-face of makeup to head to the grocery store, Keys’ appearance was refreshing and real and a reminder that celebrities have imperfections just like everyone else.
In an interview with Elle UK, Keys’ revealed her skin wasn’t always glowing and smooth, “I mean, I know how it feels to have a face full of bumps and pimples. I lived through that in the public eye.”
So what is her secret? She reveals that a major change she made to clear her skin was eliminating dairy and drinking more water.
However, if you’re anything like us and cannot imagine a world where you have to live without cheese or ice cream, Keys’ also revealed some products she swears by to maintain her complexion.
The Epicuren Aloe Vera Calming Gel and Bulgaricum Probiotic Mask Powder are two products that are staples in her routine. “Epicuren is one of my favourite brands,” Keys’ reveals.
Sometimes, she’ll use the two products together, mixing some of the mask powder in with the moisturiser, for the combined benefit of moisture and exfoliation.

Actress and Hollywood sweetheart Sandra Bullock has a slightly more unconventional beauty secret for reducing under eye circles and puffiness – haemorrhoid cream.
Yep! You read that right, Bullock previously admitted to using it to tighten her under-eye area and smooth out wrinkles.
Definitely a more experimental method in the beauty world, but perhaps a good alternative to botox?
We’re not entirely sure that it works, however if it has a stamp of approval from Sandra Bullock it might be worth the try. Might be wise to keep this one on the down low though…
