The Strangest Celeb Beauty Tips

Since celebrities have access to some of the world’s most renowned beauticians, so we know they have some of the best beauty tips for looking fierce.

But these celebrities have adopted some odd beauty techniques to look their best, from lathering hair in mayonnaise to using kitty litter (yuck!) as a facial scrub, so approach these beauty tips with caution.

The Mayonnaise Hair Mask

Got extra mayonnaise in the fridge after that family lunch? You might be able to use it as a hair mask if you follow Blake Lively and Salma Hayek’s beauty tip.

Salma and Blake use mayonnaise with ingredients like egg, lemon juice and vinegar to boost shine and moisture in their hair, an old recipe passed from mother to daughter.

Thanks to the fatty acid in the egg yolk and the anti-bacterial nature of vinegar, the scalp is both protected and conditioned.

There’s no science behind this beauty treatment, but try it for yourself. All you need is one cup of mayonnaise.

The Bee Sting Facial

In a completely unsurprising turn, Gwyneth Paltrow has made it onto our list thanks to ‘apitherapy’ or bee sting facials.

“It’s a thousands of years old treatment called apitherapy. People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It’s actually pretty incredible if you research it. But, man, it’s painful,” she said in Grazia.

Apitherapy has been touted as an alternative medicine using honey bee products, including venom, to treat chronic illnesses such as arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

By using the venom on the skin, a reaction is caused making the blood rush giving the face a natural facelift reducing ageing.

It’s a treatment used by many celebrities including Kate Middleton, Victoria Beckham and Kylie Minogue.

But don’t worry, venom collection is much kinder these days, making the facials a non-fatal experience for the bees.

Soldier Sleeping

Worried about getting wrinkles in your sleep? Jennifer Lopez has and makes sure to use this beauty tip every night. She sleeps on her back to avoid causing wrinkles on her face and neck.

Although there’s no evidence to back (see what we did there 😏) her tip, J.Lo is still fierce at 50, giving those younger people a run for their money, so who knows.

The Penis Facial

This facial speaks for itself, but in an article in Vogue Australia, Cate Blanchett praised the penis facial, which involves foreskin stem cells.

For $650, a top facialist at the George Louise Atelier in New York will micro-needle your skin before applying the stem cell serum, which is taken from newborn foreskins after circumcision.

The procedure is said to rejuvenate the skin while correcting skin texture and colouration.

Not convinced? We don’t blame you.

Kitty Litter Face Scrub

If you’ve ever wanted that Snooki glow all you need is kitty litter, according to the Jersey Shore star.

Back in 2011, Snooki discussed her beauty tip on Conan, saying it’s a cheap alternative to a face exfoliant. All you need to do is work it into your skin using an oil or water to scrub off the dead skin cells.

“Well, I definitely like to Google a lot, and I don’t like to spend a lot of money on spa treatments – just because I’m a cheap-o,” she said.

“So I googled what else I could use that was not so expensive. It was cat litter.”

Most cat litter is an abrasive sodium bentonite clay, so this is one beauty tip we don’t advice trying.
