DIY face masks on a budget

We have all spent a lot of money on natural skin care products that have a hefty price tag due to supposedly being ‘home-grown’. Getting healthy skin doesn’t necessarily need to leave you out of pocket. If you want affordable and pure ingredients in your face masks, then why not make them yourself?

Boost

The iconic banana mask has been deemed as “Nature’s Botox” because it contains the nutrients to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and retain a healthy glow. Other than tasting good, the amazing fruit also has potassium which hydrates the skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. It also contains vitamins A, B, and E which lighten the skin tone, fade blemishes and protect the skin from UV rays.

  5. Keep it on for 15 minutes
  6. Rinse with lukewarm water and then moisturise

Cleanse

Believe it or not oil is actually very healthy for acne-prone skin. An oil mask dissolves the dirty oils already on your face and rejuvenates your skin with healthy oils. When using the right oil and the right method it can clear skin issues such as oily skin, sensitive skin and blackheads.

Soothe

Apple cider vinegar has been used for centuries to clean and disinfect nail fungus, lice and ear infections. An apple cider mask also has a ton of benefits  including reducing pimples by conditioning acne-prone skin. The antibacterial properties of the vinegar not only helps with acne control but also balances the pH on your skin to soften it and reduce spots.

Brighten

Strawberry masks are perfect because they are full of vitamin C.  The acids within a strawberry exfoliate the skin and keeps it looking fresh and glowing. This mask is great for people with dull, damaged or acne-prone skin.
