What is it?
Micro-blading is a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo that makes your sharpie rainbows, look a little more like Kylie Jenners’. It is perfect for those of you who are sick of either the length and width of your eyebrows or even patchiness. A colour pigment is implemented under the skin to illude individual eyebrow hairs to appear more full or darker.
How do they do it?
The experts use a manual hand-held tool to do hair-like strokes mimicking natural hairs on your eyebrow. The colour does not go as deep as a real tattoo but it is definitely far enough to become semi-permanent. The technician starts off with drawing on the shape of the eyebrows the customer wants with an eyebrow pencil. She then uses the manual tool to go over the hair with their specially designed eyebrow dye.
Tips to note before the procedure:
- Do not complete this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Do not drink any alcohol or take any paracetamol the week before you are undertaking this procedure. If you do complete the procedure, there’s a chance your eyebrows will bruise from the blood loss during the method.
- The colour you choose will look much darker for the first 5-7 days, but it will start to settle onto your skin.
Will it hurt?
Depends on how pain tolerant you are, usually customers do not complain but there is a slight possibility you may feel the whole procedure. Some technicians use an anaesthetic wipe applied to your eyebrows before the procedure starts so the customer is as comfortable as possible.You might feel your eyebrows are a little sore or tender afterwards, this will only last for the first 3-4 days.
Do I need to touch it up?
It is advised to have a follow-up session with your technician, just to check the healing process and see whether the brows are coming along well.

Depends on where you go, it usually starts from $300 to $900 in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast. It’s definitely worth the investment because the look of fuller and well-groomed brows can shape your face so much better and just give you that bit of extra confidence.
