This season’s festival favourite beauty trend, the Glitter Butt is getting the Halloween treatment. Don’t say we didn’t warn you…
It looks like a creative minded person on the internet realised that not only do butts look like peaches, they also resemble pumpkins. Here sprung the most questionable Halloween costume – BUTTS! Painted like sparkly pumpkins, iconic really.
The Sun, a British newspaper was the first to spot the NSFW trend which involves painting your derriere to look like a Jack O Lantern, complete with a creepy cute grin across the crack (artistic AND accurate)!
The look was created by Go Get Glitter, the team behind the original Glitter Butt trend that was likely all over your Instagram feed during Coachella this year, who was inspired to take the iconic look and turn it into something more seasonal.
“The glitter bum trend we started is so popular, we wanted to find a way to tie it in with the Halloween content we have been creating,” Sophia Levy, makeup artist and co-founder of Go Get Glitter, told Marie Claire. “Our peach bum was, and still is, one of our most popular looks, so we wanted to recreate it with a Halloween twist!”
The Go Get Glitter team debuted the look earlier this week on Instagram with the caption: “🎃✨TWERK OR TREAT✨🎃” which is the best caption i’ve ever seen.
In the past few days, other makeup artists have begun trying and experimenting with body art for themselves, and we’re willing to bet there will be a whole heap of glitter butts in an array of Halloween designs between now and October 31.
If you’re checking out these pics and thinking “I’ve found my Halloween costume”, no judgement here! All you require, according to Levy, is black and orange paint to draw the shape, then fill it in using Glitter Fix and your fave chunky glitter. You’ll also need your most artistic friend and their steady hands.
