To help the launch of his product online, Star is touring Australia. He has announced meet and greets in Melbourne, Gold Coast and Sydney. The Sydney event is being held with clothing retailer Princess Polly for their “Princess Polly Live” event. This event will also feature Australian influencers Sammy Robinson, Michael Finch and Cartia Mallan.
This product announcement comes at a great time with Beauty Guru drama in the YouTube community. Ex-friends of Star, Manny Gutierrez, Laura Lee, Gabriel Zamora and Nikita Dragun have all come under fire over the last two weeks amid past racism and child abuse tweets.
Drama began two weeks ago, when Zamora posted a photo with his 3 friends recreating the KarJenner photo taken at Kylie’s 21st – stating he and his friends are ‘doing better’ without Star.
Soon after this twet, Zamora tweeted: “Imagine stanning a racist? I could never”
In case you don’t know what ‘stanning’ is, it basically means being obsessed with a celebrity.
This is when trouble began. Fans went looking for old tweets on the 4 twitter accounts, with results showing Lee and Zamora had tweeted racist things in the past. Manny has had controversial issues in the past which he addressed in a video titled “I will do better”. Nikita also has a rocky background, tweeting about child abuse.
With all these scandals, Zamora, Gutierrez and Lee posted separate apology videos to their respective YouTube channels. Oh, how these backfired.
Lee was called out for ‘fake-crying’ and not addressing the main issue of her tweets. Manny was told he was insincere. Zamora, however, was praised for his epic 40 minute apology.
Since the original tweets, Gutierrez and Lee have declined dramatically in followers, and ultimately ruining their own careers. Lee has been removed from her affiliate partner’s sites, and any products she has collaborated on have been removed from the websites.
Although this is a messy situation, Star has been making most of it.
Imagine trying to bully me but you actually end your own career instead ✌? pic.twitter.com/JZCYBjbpI3
