Struggling With Fake Lashes? Handy Lash Hacks You Need to Know

Have you always been a fan of false lashes, but you struggle with the odd lash-related issue from time to time? You’re not alone! From figuring out the best ways to apply lashes, store them, re-use them, maintain them, and clean them, this can all be a confusing subject to master!

A quality set of false lashes can take you from regular to glam in a matter of minutes, but a poorly applied and poorly maintained set of lashes can have the total opposite effect. For that reason, knowing a few lash-related hacks is the best way to avoid fluttering problems!

Let’s check out a few hacks from the professionals, to help you look like the glamour puss you are this coming season.

Add Some Curl

Lashes which go straight outwards do not look natural, and the unnatural look is what we want to avoid here. You need a little curl to give your lashes a more natural yet dramatic appearance. If your set is lacking a little bend, try wrapping them around a small brush for a few minutes. A small eyebrow brush is ideal for this, without giving an over the top rolled up effect. The look will also follow the natural shape of your eye.

Remember to Personalise Your Lashes

Lashes come in a uniform shape and size when they come out of the packet, so you are likely to need to measure them and trim them down, to suit your eye. To do this, hold them against your lash line and see if you need to trim them down with small nail scissors – you need them to fit the exact measurements of your own eye. In addition, if the lash length is too long for you, you can trim them carefully at this point too, before application.

Get Dramatic Lashes With Stacking

If you can’t find the right set of lashes you’ve been looking for, you can create your own bespoke pair by stacking up different lashes before you put them on. Go for longer ones and shorter ones together, to create a more natural look, with extra thickness. This can work to make your eyes look bigger, especially if you go for full and long lashes applied towards the outer edge, and then add a set of lashes crossing over in middle.

Problems With Application? Look Downwards

Appying lashes for the first time can be hard, but sometimes you can have issues even after the hundredth time! If you’re struggling, place a mirror on a flat surface and try and apply the lashes when looking downwards. You’re sure to find this much easier.

Save Cash, Make Your Own DIY Individual Lashes

Strip lashes are much cheaper than individual lashes, but if you prefer the more natural shape and look of individual ones, you can create your own. Simply take your strip set and cut them up at the point where the groupings come together. From there, apply them as you would a set of individuals. Easy!

These hints are sure to take you from problem lash applicator, to easy peasy in a few minutes!
