Whether you’re into summer vacations, winter breaks, or you simply want to look smooth and silky all year around, there’s no denying that looking into ways to rid yourself of body hair is a must.
We might be born hairless, but it doesn’t stay that way! Whilst some people aren’t so bothered about body hair, and simply do the minimum to keep everything in check, other people are extremely bothered by it. It all comes down to personal preference, and whatever makes you comfortable at the end of the day. Having said that, if you are one of those people who wants to rid themselves of body hair, you need to find the most effective way possible.
Have you heard of laser hair removal?
You no doubt have, but what is your stand on it?
Like everything in life, laser hair removal has its pros and cons, and it’s important to explore them all before making your final decision. In order to decide, you first need to know what it is.
Basically, laser hair removal uses lasers (as the name would suggest) to destroy the hair follicle at its deeper levels. This means that over time, the hair will begin to grow back fairer in colour, and also much less coarse, like baby hair. With even more time, the hair will stop growing completely, and you’ll be smooth as the day you were born!
Does it Hurt?
There is no pain involved with laser hair removal, other than perhaps a slight tingling or warm sensation at the time of the treatment. The laser emits high frequency beams of light and heat, and you will probably feel a warm, relaxing sensation. The amount of time the treatment takes, totally depends on the area of the body being treated.
There are various different lasers which are used by different practitioners, and some have been shown to be more effective than others. For that reason, it’s always a good idea to do your research ahead of time, and always check out the credientials of the clinic you’re considering going to.
How Quickly Does it Work?
How long is a piece of string?! Everyone is different, so there is no hard and fast rule to say that in x amount of weeks your legs will not have a hair left on them. You will need a series of treatments for the process to be completed, and at first, you’ll not notice a huge difference. After the first round, you will see that the hair falls out, but it will grow back at this stage, although much less darker and thicker than before. This will fall out again also, and over time, the hair will stop completely. It could take a few weeks, it could take a month, it depends – but, it will happen!
So, is laser hair removal a do or a don’t for you?
