We all know that trying to find innovation in fashion at all points on the gender spectrum these days is a hard thing to do. However, some inspiration has been found in recent adaptations of previously gender-specific clothing, and that idea has been taken to a new extreme in the form of RompHim, the new brand launched on Kickstarter providing romper suits for men.
Having already almost doubled its intended fundraising target, RompHim has begun its steps towards an official launch, with the brand starting to gain recognition already for its originality and, let’s be honest, slight oddness.
They were modelled at this year’s Coachella festival and caused a bit of a splash there, and the brand took the opportunity to ride the wave onto Instagram.

These male rompers will definitely be able to boast a versatility factor, as the idea done right could very well lend itself to be an excellent an summer collection. No doubt RompHim will be keen to showcase more examples of its use as the brand continues to grow.
Along with recent examples like the abundance of gender-neutral clothing ranges being championed by large brands and the (sometimes questionable) adaptation of gender specific items, it’s heartening to see more examples of new brands trying innovative and original ideas.
Plus, I think they look pretty good. They may not be for all occasions, but done in the right way, they could genuinely be a success. Casual summer wear is always in demand, and if these suits are as good as they look now, we could have a real success story on our hands.
Good on them, too! If no-one pushes the boundaries, we won’t ever get innovative and creative items. Experimentation may not always work, but that’s part of the fun! Good luck to you, RompHim, and do your thing with pride.
