This is HANDS down my favourite hair trend for 2018. When it comes to accessories, I opt for ‘less is more’, and this one is totally up my alley. The silk hair scarf was debuted back in 2016 on the D&G runway, and it was only a matter of time before it turned into a massive IT girl trend.

The luxe hair scarf combo is so chic and elevates just about any outfit from cute to having total feminine flare. You can amp up your top knot with cute handkerchief sized scarves, or wear your hair in a textured low pony and wrap it with a flowing silky centrepiece scarf for the ultimate pretty girl vibe. For a dressier look, wear it as a headband or ‘turban’ with your hair out for a statement vintage vibe.

This trend flows perfectly from season to season and can adapt to any fashion look. Choose a colour that compliments your hair colour and skin tone (my brunette hair looks bomb with a baby pink and red combo). The ‘how-to’ is totally straight forward: tie your hair into your ideal style with a hair elastic, wrap the scarf around the base and voila! You’re done (just make sure you have bobby pins on hand for any slippery mishaps). If your scarf is too long, just keep wrapping it around until it’s at the ideal length (this is also a perfect way to add volume and texture). What’s even better about this trend is that it’s perfect to disguise your dirty hair days and still leave you looking dreamy!
