Empire is one of the hottest shows around at the moment – that drama, that intrigue, that fashion! And no one is more fashionable than Lyon matriarch, Cookie! As Season 2 has wrapped up and we’re waiting ever so patiently for Season 3, we take a look back at Cookie’s style evolution over the past 2 seasons.
Animal print for days
For Cookie, there is no such thing as too much of anything, much less leopard print! This was one of the first looks we saw on the show and it set the stage for Cookie as the fierce lioness we know and love.
Statement funeral wear
We know sunglasses inside is a big no-no, but daymn, if anyone can pull it off it’s Cookie. Also, is anyone else getting Beyonce in Telephone vibes?
Work attire
Nothing screams BOSS like matching your lipstick to your fur coat! Cookie is one boss we definitely wouldn’t argue with.
Don’t let anyone dictate your style
Just because it’s a white party does NOT mean animal print is not allowed. Cookie doesn’t let anyone dictate her style, no matter the occasion.
Appropriate prison attire
Orange jumpsuits are so 2015. As Cookie knows, you should never be afraid to stand out in the crowd – and a statement jacket is perfect for that.
Classic casual
Casual cool is always best served with a side of bling, heels and attitude.
All that glitters
A gold suit doesn’t just say businesswoman, it says woman in charge. Also, matching your accessories is KEY. Gold earrings, gold ring, gold phone case, even gold nail polish!
All out Moschino
Having the confidence to pull off a red leather suit that makes us think of Michael Jackson in Thriller, or old school Eddie Murphy is killa. Cookie, of course, makes it work like a kweeen!
Changing it up
One thing you could never say about Cookie’s style is that it’s stale. While a relatively laid back look, it still has all the hallmarks of a Cookie original, on point accessories, a purple lip and colour, colour colour!
Glam outerwear
Waiting for an uber has never looked so good! While Cookie is probably not on Peta’s Christmas card list, we sure hope we’re on hers!
Details, details, details
On point accessories make an outfit. If you look real close, you can see the crystals that are adorning Cookie’s veil. Demure and sexy? We think so!

And we couldn’t finish this list without including this glorious outfit! Snakeskin knee high boots, and head to toe matching Le Snob. We have just died!
