This year we have seen some pretty insane and amazing fashion and makeup trends. I love a good trend as much as the next gal, but some of them I just cannot get around no matter how hard I try. The tiny sunglasses trend? My ginormous five-head stops me from getting on board with that. The return of double denim? Unless I’ve got Justin Timberlake with me at all times (a la Britney and Justin circa 2001), count me out.

But there is one trend that suits everyone. Fashionable phone cases are the way to go for this year! They’re cute, on-trend, and super affordable too. Here are just some of the reasons you need to get around the stylish phone case trend:

The Personalisation Factor

There’s nothing I love more than something you can personalise. Whether it’s a necklace, a wallet, a cheese board – if there’s somewhere to put my initials, sign me up. Personalised phone cases have been on the market for a while now, but the hysteria still hasn’t died down. They make the ideal present for a loved one, are suitable for guys and girls, and they’re amazing quality. Get on it!

Match it to your own personal style

Your phone case can be as big and extravagant, or as little and delicate as you like! My mum has a phone case that looks like a pineapple and is as big as her head because: a) she’s from Queensland and likes to represent, and b) because why the heck not? Your phone is pretty much an extension of yourself, so why shouldn’t your phone case represent you and your personal style? Whether your style is simple and minimalistic, or bold and colourful, there’s a phone case to suit you and your preference. And if you try and tell me that it’s not cool to have a phone case that looks like a large Maccas fries, you’re kidding yourself.

Outfit and phone case coordination or bust

When I was 9 I went through a phase where I matched my socks to whatever colour headband I was wearing. Yes, I had lots of friends. No, my parents made no effort to try and stop me. No, I do not regret. So who’s to say you can’t match your phone case to your outfit? There are so many designs available that it’s not a challenge to match your case to your outfit. You can go with a floral design for a day at the races, a block colour for a regular work day, the opportunities are endless! The cases are made of so many different materials to cater to your needs too. Plastic, silicone, leather, velvet – however you feel on a particular day, there’s a case to match. How could you possibly say no?

So long as we’ve still got phones, we’re all going to need phone cases. Unless you’re one of those crazy adrenaline junkies who choose not to use a case on their phone. If that’s you, get your act together you’re giving me anxiety. Our cases protect our precious phones, and do a great job of looking super cute at the same time. So get around this trend ASAP!
