Cute Oktoberfest Costumes To Try This Year

It’s finally October, and that means we can finally celebrate an alcoholic beverage – Beer! Oktoberfest is a German celebration for their favourite yeasty drink, bier, and runs from mid September all the way into October. Oktoberfest is celebrated around the world, and with events coming up in Sydney this month, we need to find you the BEST Oktoberfest costume the internet has to offer. Get ready to pull out your puffy shirts!

The Lederhosen

According to Google, a Lederhosen is a pair leather shorts with H-shaped braces, traditionally worn by men in Alpine regions such as Bavaria. Let’s be real though, there ain’t no stopping the ladies from being comfy, am I right? The Lederhosen is perfect for the ladies who want to be comfy in shorts and a pair of white sneakers. Here are some cute options for you:

Option 1

This is the most expensive option, but also one of the cutest Lederhosen I’ve found online. The black shorts differ to anything else I’ve seen and this whole look just looks super comfy and cute! The inflatable bier really amps up this costume. You can purchase this Lederhosen for $117.99 from this website

Option 2

This is my favourite Lederhosen of the three, there’s just something about the suede camel brown that looks authentic. The website has styled it with a basic white t-shirt and sneakers, which is definitely my vibe and makes the whole outfit super casual. You can pick this costume up for $69.99 from this website.

Option 3

This is for the ladies who love to wear colour! This teal Lederhosen looks super cute and comfy, features an elastic waist which is perfect for the post beer drinking bloat. Unfortunately, this costume does not come with the cute puffy shirt, but you can definitely style this with a white t-shirt like option 2. You can pick this costume up for $49.95 from this website.

The Dirndl

Google has helped us out again with this one, defining a Dirndl as a full, wide skirt with a tight waistband. It can also be described as a woman’s dress in the style of Alpine peasant costume, with a dirndl skirt and a close-fitting bodice. The Dirndl is a very popular costume among Oktoberfest goers because they’re just so dang cute. Here are my top 3 costumes to get your hands on.

Option 1

This first option has a more traditional feel in the colour scheme with dark green and red focal points. The one downfall for this costume seems to be the fact that it is non stretch, but if you’re skipping beer for non bubbly alcohol, then this might be the perfect option for you! Top off the look with braids and a fancy German hat and you’ll be sure to win best dressed! Purchase this dress here for the low, low price of $59.95.

Option 2

Another very cute option is this navy, blue and red number. I LOVE this costume and am very tempted to purchase this for my own Oktoberfest celebrations. Like the previous costume, this one does not offer any stretch which may be an issue. If that doesn’t bother you, why not pick it up? It’s available for $59.95 from this website. But be quick, it’s starting to sell out!

Option 3

This Dirndl is for the colourful folk who don’t mind a little colour. This bright green costume looks awesome and would definitely turn heads! Perhaps this Dirndl would win you best dressed? Top it off with the matching green hat and you’ve picked yourself a banger costume! Pick up this outfit for a BARGAIN price of $29.95 from this website!

The Accessories

Now that you’ve got amazing options for your outfit, you need to add some PIZZAZZ to your outfit with accessories.

German Pin Hat

There’s nothing better than topping your outfit off with a German Pin Hat, it really is the final touch that makes the costume. You can pick up these hats in a variety of colours to match your costume like green, grey, brown and black.  You can pick up a hat in any colour from this website, with prices varying between $7.95 to $14.95.

German Trachten Long Socks

Top off your traditional costume with some traditional German Trachten socks. These socks look surprisingly comfy and warm, and with this weather looking a little miserable for the weekend, its the perfect addition to your Dirndl or Lederhosen costume. You can pick these socks up from this website for $16.99.

Wigs

You may have made an impulsive decision to cut your hair off recently, and honestly, same. But Oktoberfest requires you to wear your hair in braids or in pigtails, and sometimes us short haired gals can’t get away with that. So why not dabble and experiment with wigs? This one is bloody hilarious and would definitely win you a best dressed prize. Would you rock it? I know I would! You can purchase it from this website for $34.99!

What costume will you be rocking this weekend? I think I’m leaning towards a Dirndl styled down with a pair of white sneakers. Let us know down below what you’re going to rock!
