In a word, foundation shopping is a STRUGGLE.

Between the colour discrepancies, weird colour distortion from the bottles, crazy shop lighting, finding a finish that suits your skin undertone and colouring – the whole situation is stressful and not fun. Thankfully, after Fenty Beauty’s massive release of 40 foundation shades, the beauty industry’s been chipping away at making it less awful for all, with Maybelline the latest to make a huge move for inclusivity.

Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation has been incredibly popular since its release in Australia. The one downside has always been the shade range. While the range wasn’t the worst I’ve seen (I’m looking at you Rimmel!), Maybelline has introduced more shades with varying undertones, bringing the total colour count to 40!

The expansion of this foundation is amazing, and being one of the only affordable foundations in Priceline that has an extensive shade range means that everyone can afford to have a foundation that matches.

The Matte + Poreless line is one of the best pharmacy foundations for a soft and blurred look, while Maybelline’s Dewy + Smooth collection leans into the fresh-faced aesthetic. The brand hasn’t posted whether the shade extensions are coming for their cult fave Instant Age Rewind concealer line, but fingers crossed that it keeps getting easier for everyone to find their match.

Fit Me! foundation comes in at $21.95 a bottle, perfect for those who want a perfect match but are still on a budget (like me!) The matte + poreless formula is my all time favourite!
