Kylie Jenner and her cosmetics are once again causing controversy. The new range of blushes that have been released by Kylie Cosmetics are the cause of this latest uproar. Many people are up in arms about the names of the blushes, which are quite suggestive (ironically, some might even say that they’re enough to make one blush). Especially when considering that the target market of Jenner’s products are teenage girls, the names of her blushes are definitely ill-advised.
There are five blushes available in Kylie Cosmetics’ new release. Three of the range have the somewhat harmless names (yet still provocative names) ‘X Rated‘, ‘Hot and Bothered‘, and ‘Hopeless Romantic‘.
However, the ones that got people’s attention were the other two blushes. The final two blushes are named ‘Virginity‘ and ‘Barely Legal‘, which are overtly sexualised names for such innocent products. Both blushes have the internet up in arms about the branding and naming decisions, with many people taking to Twitter to voice their displeasure.
Seriously @KylieJenner, choose better names for your products. You have 12+ year old fans! "Barely Legal" "Virginity" 🙄

Now I do love @KylieJenner but I do find labeling something"Barely Legal" inappropriate especially when the theme is so sexual. pic.twitter.com/vkVQ3Cfue5

As usual, there has been no word from Kylie Jenner herself on the names, and it’s doubtful that she’ll comment. After all, her products are selling out like crazy, and all press is good press, right?
