Model and Instagram personality Gigi Hadid has a face that’s recognisable around the world, and it’s now even more recognisable. The international model has had a Barbie Doll made in her likeness to celebrate her second collaboration with the US brand Tommy Hilfiger.
Gigi took to Instagram to share an image of her toy mini-me. The likeness is uncanny! The doll shares her hazel eyes, pouty lips and iconic beachy wave locks. Bar-Gi and the original Barbie are rollerblading together and looking very casual chic. Both dolls are wearing denim shorts with Tommy Jeans t-shirts and sunglasses, looking every bit the chic Californian image that Tommy Hilfiger champions. Gigi’s Instagram of her mini-doppelgänger has a Malibu background of blue skies and palm trees, which hints at the location of the show. Instead of being held in New York, the show will instead be held at Venice Beach in California.
Barbie also shared a photo of the two dolls with a smartphone, snapping a selfie. This is a cheeky nod to the younger generation and to Hadid’s own Instagram fame.
As the modeling community’s all-American golden girl, Gigi has been the perfect collaborator for the Tommy Hilfiger brand. She has worked as a brand ambassador for Hilfiger extensively and has even co-designed the TOMMYxGIGI collection with Hilfiger. The TOMMYxGIGI collection is the focus of the see-now buy-now fashion show this year. We can’t wait to see what other tricks Gigi and Hilfiger have up their sleeves!
