One of the most glamorous David Jones Autumn + Winter Launches happened last week and it had a suitably spectacular lineup. The star-studded event prominently featured Victoria’s Secret model Bridget Malcolm, homegrown star Jesinta Franklin (formerly Jesinta Campbell) and international supermodel Karlie Kloss.
Securing Kloss as a model for their Autumn collection is a great success for David Jones, who have long upheld the image of elegance and effortless sophistication that Kloss personifies. There are rumours that her participation was not cheap, with reports by Pedestrian Tv that the famous model and socialite was paid upwards of $1.5 million.
Kloss led a stellar lineup of Australian and international models displaying the best of the gorgeous designs by a range of high-end designers. She became the crowning jewel of a glittering fashion show that was highly hyped beforehand. The launch was worth the hype. The show was held in the foreground of the stunning St Mary’s Cathedral in central Sydney, with the rain adding to the dramatic effect.
The designers included famous brands like Giorgio Armani, Camilla and Marc, Scanlan Theodore, Oscar de la Renta, Viktoria and Woods, Alexander McQueen, Jac + Jack, and Alice McCall. The guest was equally impressive, with the veritable who’s who of Australian celebrities attending the lavish event. Attendees included Lara Worthington, David Jones Ambassador Adam Goodes, Pia Miller, Lisa Wilkinson, Tessa James and Nate Myles, among many others.
Model and David Jones Ambassador Jessica Gomes also walked the catwalk, beside Jesinta, Karlie and Bridget. Also walking the catwalk was Jason Dundas, another David Jones Ambassador who captured the behind the scenes video that features many of the famous faces who walked that day.
