He was the Youtube Vlogger and she was the beauty maven. Now it seems their friendship is officially over and everyone wondered why on earth that was the cause.

Kat Von D’s video explains it all. In a lengthy post on Facebook and Instagram, she cited the promotion of drug use, racist behaviour and bullying as reasons for cutting ties. Von D said, “I can no longer hold my tongue after recent events” (Pop Sugar, 2016).

Kat Von D revealed that she wanted to “disassociate herself from him and his brand from this point on” (Instagram). “The Jeffree that he is now, is a monster . . . this attention-seeking, fame-desiring, money-driven monster that I want no part in” (Pop Sugar, 2016).

She even had a salmon pink lipstick in his honour titled Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Jeffree. This will be discontinued.

In the video, Von D said, “You can pick on all these other people that might be intimidated and won’t say anything back, but Jeffree, I’m not scared of you” (Youtube, 2016). Fans commented on the post, letting Kat know that they supported her decision. A few told their tales about being personally bullied by him on social media. One Facebook User Kat Bernal said, “He called me terrible names and had his army do the same on my Instagram” (Facebook, 2016). Despite the stories of inappropriate treatment that came out, Von D told her fans to send him positive vibes rather than fight more fire.
