GMC Cosmedical is setting the benchmark for ethical aesthetics

In a city where cosmetic medicine is constantly evolving, one name has quietly defined what ethical, patient focused care should look like, and that’s GMC Cosmedical. Recently recognised as one of Sydney’s Top 5 Cosmetic Clinics and crowned the number one pick by Beauty News, GMC Cosmedical is setting new standards in Sydney’s aesthetic landscape. With clinics in Randwick and Narellan, they have spent over three decades refining the art and science of aesthetic medicine.

Founded by Dr George Calfus, GMC Cosmedical is built on honesty, integrity and a deeply personal philosophy of care. “We deem this recognition a huge honour and a reward for the way we’ve run our clinics over the past 30 years,” says Dr Calfus. “It’s the result of excellent staff, good communication, and a patient-centric approach where outcomes, not profits, are the focus.”

What truly sets GMC apart is its family driven foundation. Working alongside his daughters Maree, a Podiatric Surgeon, and Madeline, a Registered Nurse, Dr Calfus has created a clinic that blends innovation with genuine warmth. “We run GMC as a family style boutique clinic,” he explains. “Between the three of us, we offer a broad range of treatments, literally from head to toes.”

This collaborative and ethical approach has earned GMC a loyal following. Patients trust that they’ll never be sold something they don’t need, and that the results will always look authentic. “Cosmetic medicine should enhance, not overpower,” says Dr Calfus.

That philosophy extends to every treatment, from injectables and laser rejuvenation to innovative surgical techniques like GMC’s Minimal Access Lipectomy, a procedure developed in-house to remove lipomas with minimal scarring. The clinic is also leading the way with the Fotona StarWalker hybrid laser, which safely treats all skin types, including darker tones that were once difficult to manage.

“Technology keeps this field exciting,” says Dr Calfus. “We invest in innovations that genuinely benefit our patients and open new doors for those who may have felt left out of mainstream therapies.”

Beyond the science, Dr Calfus remains driven by human stories, like the grandfather who, after watching his young granddaughter’s non-surgical ear correction, returned at 67 to have his own ears fixed. “He fulfilled a lifelong wish,” recalls Dr Calfus. “Moments like that remind you that this work isn’t about vanity, it’s about confidence, wellbeing and happiness.”

With its blend of compassion, innovation and ethical leadership, GMC Cosmedical continues to redefine what excellence in aesthetic medicine looks like, a standard others now aspire to match.
