Essential oils are an eco-friendly gals dream. They’ve been used for years for medical purposes, and are now even getting incorporated into beauty guru skincare and well-being routines. Essential oils have incredible benefits like antidepressant, detoxifying, antibacterials and calming properties. Above anything all they’re a natural, safe and cost-effective way to deal with everyday stress, skin issues and to simple decompress.

I am a total essential oil addict and couldn’t imagine my daily routine without them. Here are four amazing essential oils you need to try:

Lavender

Lavender oil has become an integral element of my night time routine. After I shower and before I climb into bed, I massage a few drops of lavender oil behind my ears, on my temples and on my pressure points to calm me down and get me in my sleeping zone. Lavender aids in relaxation and had amazing calming properties. Lavender oil also helps reduce acne scarring which is an amazing plus!

 

Clary Sage

Clary sage is amazing for aiding menstrual cramps and aches and pains in general. When its that time of the month, I slather clary sage essential oil on my stomach and lower back to eliminate cramps and get back to feeling myself. Clary sage also increases libido, improves digestion and keeps you feeling chill.

Camomile

Camomile is as calming as it sounds. A cup of warm tea comes to mind every time I drop this beautiful oil on my skin and It’s calming results feel like exactly that. I mix camomile with my lavender oil for the perfect calming concoction. If you suffer with anxiety during your menstrual cycle, I highly recommend camomile to uplift your mood as its a natural antidepressant.

 

Peppermint

Peppermint is another go to for pain relief. It has numbing and antiseptic properties that work wonders for aches and pains. Its amazing for digestion and relieving headaches and smells delicious! Peppermint oil boosts your energy levels and also helps you focus (perfect for those stressful uni times)
