Trying to get through your morning routine without running late for work or uni is challenging at the best of times. When you throw a sweaty workout into the mix, things get a whole lot harder to time manage. If you’re anything like me, your hair becomes visibly sweaty after a gym session, and you definitely don’t have time to wash, blow wave and style your hair afterwards. Here are my top tips to combating sweaty hair after a long workout, whilst still looking super chic!
Prepare your hair
Naturally, you’d think to use dry shampoo following a workout, but not in this circumstance. Apply dry shampoo all through your hair before you start your workout and it will soak up oil as you sweat. Wear your hair in a style that you can wear when you’re done. My go-to is a middle parted low pony tail — easy to slick back and hide any oil that the dry shampoo missed.
Soak it up
Following your gym session, towel dry your hair and get as much sweat off as you can. Once your body has had time to cool down, blow dry your roots and get rid of any remaining sweat (and give your hair some serious volume!)
Get styling
Depending on how sweaty your hair is, you will more than likely have to opt for an up do. Top knots, slicked low buns and braids are awesome hair styles to work if you’re short on time, plus they look super cute and effortless!
Perfume your hair
Above all, make sure your hair is smelling fresh as a daisy before you leave. Nothing is worse than smelly hair, so make sure you have plenty of dry shampoo, hair spray and hair oil to give your second-day hair that freshly washed fragrance!
