As Australians, we all know that sun protection is very important. Getting a tan is always nice, but we need to make sure we’re taking care of ourselves as well. We all know someone who has suffered from too much sun.
The problem is that sunscreen is just such an uncomfortable thing to use. It works, but it leaves you feeling oily, it sticks around on your skin for ages, and makes stuff like sand stick to you constantly. We haven’t had a lot of chance to appreciate these problems lately, but we’ve all had enough experience.
However, your prayers have been answered by the brand Supergoop. Supergoop have just released their new sunscreen mousse that looks set to solve the problems we’ve been having with normal suncream for years.
“With broad-spectrum SPF 50, this whip is formulated with a complex blend of natural oils that act as a daily moisturiser and sun protection in one. The water-resistant formula absorbs quickly into skin, while the uplifting, clean scent will make you forget you’re wearing sunscreen at all,” says the brand’s advertising.
It certainly sounds like it’s going to be solving some of the issues that plague hot days on the beach, which is certainly a blessing. Plus, extra moisturising will only help to keep skin looking clean and healthy in the long run.
This mousse is applied with the same method as normal sunscreens, slathered directly on the skin just before sun exposure and reapplied when necessary after that. However, as the brand says, the mousse disappears more quickly than sunscreen. The manufacturers suggest a golf-ball-sized amount of sun mousse for each limb, so hopefully you won’t need to go lathering it on too thick to get the best out of it.
So basically, if we could just get some sun to test this out in, we’d be sorted!
