Why “Glossier” should make its Australian debut!

Skin first. Makeup second… Australia third?

Sparking a revolution within the cosmetic and skincare industry in the last couple of years, Glossier (pronounced gloss-ee-yay 🎉) reflects and celebrates the honesty of women’s natural beauty.

Beginning as an intern at Teen Vogue, founder Emily Weiss launched her blog, Into the Gloss, in 2010. Fast forward four years, Weiss took her beauty blog and twisted it into a beauty brand, launching Glossier in Autumn 2014.

The American brand was founded on the idea that makeup and skincare should be a simple, honest, uncomplicated choice. Glossier’s slogan, “Skin first. Makeup second. Smile always,” mirrors their goal of crafting authentic skincare products that live with you, rather than on you.

From branding to products, Glossier offers a minimalist approach to taking on the makeup and skincare industry. They value a strong brand aesthetic surrounding a simple, bold yet natural, look and feel.

Here are a few of Glossier’s most popular products:

  • “Boy Brow” – a grooming pomade. “Brush your teeth, brush your brows, then maybe brush your hair.”

  • “Cloud Paint” – a seamless cheek paint. “If you can finger paint, you can Cloud Paint.”

  • “Milky Jelly Cleanser” – a conditioning face wash. “Face is left feeling healthy and soft, never tight.”

  • “Balm Dotcom” – a universal skin salve. “The lip-smacking 11-year-old in you is freaking out right now.”

Glossier empowers individuals to embrace their own style- with as much or as little on their skin as they desire. The ever growing brand deviates from the typical norms of the cosmetic industry. Their intention is to truly listen to customers and provide them with a natural and authentic way to embrace and enhance what individuals love most about themselves.

With only two physical store locations being in the US, Glossier exists primarily as an online presence. However, Glossier’s current shipping is limited to the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark and France. As the brand continues to pave the future of the cosmetic industry, we are confident that Glossier will expand across the globe.

Hold on tight, beauty lovers, we’re crossing our fingers with the hopes that Glossier makes its way to the land down under next.
