Bridal Trends to Keep Your Eye Out For in 2019

Bridal Fashion Week has wrapped up and boy are we excited by what we’ve seen! 2018 was a big year for bridal fashion, and we got to see some amazing new trends. But just when you think you’ve seen everything there is to offer, the 2019 range rolled around and flipped our life upside down. From colourful dresses, to not actually wearing a dress at all, we’ve got all the latest wedding day trends to help you look incredible on your big day!

Here’s what to look forward to for next year:

Wearing a crop top and skirt for your wedding dress is pretty progressive, even for 2018, but I’m obsessed. It’s the perfect option for a summer wedding, and super unique. The styling options are endless. You can go with a strapless top and straight pencil skirt, off-the-shoulder top with a mermaid cut skirt. Long sleeve top, short sleeve top, puffy sleeve top, strapless tops – endless I tell you! The look is super modern and on-trend, and is sure to set you apart this wedding season.

Rosy Makeup:

In 2018, we saw no end to some pretty insane makeup looks *cough* James Charles *cough*. But your wedding day is not the time to experiment with funky makeup looks. For 2019, a more simple, understated look will be on trend for weddings. Pink hues are what’s in as far as makeup goes. A soft pink blush on the cheeks, understated nude-toned eyes, and a peachy-nude lip is the way to a perfect wedding day makeup look.

Here are some of our favourite products available from Priceline:

No-Care Hair:

Disclaimer: ‘no-care’ hair does not mean that you rock up at any hair salon and let them go wild with your hair. It is a new way of styling your hair, where the styling looks effortless but chic, like you’ve just rolled out of bed and tossed your hair into a stunning little bun with curls and beachy waves in all the right places. But in reality we know it took four hours in a hairdresser’s chair and at least 3 mental breakdowns to nail the look. Meghan Markle set the bar pretty high for the ‘no-care hair’ look. The Duchess of Sussex rocked a low bun with a few pieces of hair framing her face. This look definitely will not be for everyone, though. I know I wasn’t the only one that wanted to punch through the television screen while watching the Royal Wedding to pass Meghan a bobby pin so she could pin her hair back properly. But for those of you who prefer a ‘less-is-more’ approach to hair and makeup, 2019 is the year for you!

Athleisure:

Okay. Now we’re pushing it. Apparently, bridal tracksuits are a thing. We can understand spending the morning of your wedding in a silky robe with your bridesmaids like you see in all the pictures. You’re lying if you try and tell me you’ve never felt a little bit jealous of the bridal party while they sip their mimosas in their Victoria’s Secret-esque robes, getting their hair and makeup done. But a tracksuit is a little much. My life motto is “function over fashion” (which I, more often than not, just use as an excuse to be lazy and look ugly) but for a wedding, I think this may be a little too functional. Save the tracksuits for Kath and Kim, ladies.

Whoever told you that wedding dresses can only be white needs to take a leaf out of Vera Wang’s bridal book. During fashion week this year, Wang launched a line of wedding dresses entirely in colour. Shades of red, purple, beige, green and yellow sashayed down the runway, giving potential brides plenty of inspiration for their upcoming weddings. Who says the dresses need to be white anymore? Make a statement with a bold colour this wedding season.

We know that weddings can be the most exciting, albeit stressful, days ever! But trends and runways aside, we think the most beautiful thing you can wear is your own confidence. So no matter what you wear, enjoy your day and flaunt whatever look you’re rocking.
