We’ve all been there… You wake up 15 minutes late and you’ve only got 5 minutes to make yourself look presentable. Here’s my list of products to get it done FAST.
Moisturise with your favourite face cream – I’m loving Go-To Skincare’s Very Useful Face Cream. Having moisturised skin gives you a glossy base to your makeup and gives a youthful appearance. Go-To Skincare is available to purchase online via their website.
Use a light makeup base – MAC’s Studio Face and Body is the perfect slap-and-go product. Dollop a small amount into your (clean) hands, rub the product between them and apply directly to your face. Warming the product up thickens the product and gives a fuller coverage but is still undetectable on the skin. Perfect for those “oh crap i’m running late” moments. MAC Face and Body can be purchased at your closest MAC counter or online.
A fuller coverage concealer will be your best friend – I’m loving Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. Swipe it under your eyes and over any redness, this step will instantly wake you up and brighten your complexion. You can pick this up from your nearest Priceline.
Warm up your complexion with a cream bronzer. Clinique’s Chubby Contour Stick in the shade Curvy Contour is the perfect warm tone. This brings dimension to your face and makes you look put together and like you’ve just spent a week in Bora Bora (if only!) You can purchase Clinique from Sephora or your nearest David Jones.
Use your favourite blush to make your cheeks look full and rosy. My favourite at the moment is the Benefit Gogotint. Dot two spots on each cheek and blend with a brush or your hands. Feel free to also dot the product on your lips for a maintenance free lip tint. Gogotint is available at Sephora stores.
If you’re feeling fancy, add some glow! The Mecca Enlightened Lit From Within Illuminating Balm is the perfect glossy highlight. Dab some on the high points of your face and inner corners of your eyes to brighten and pretend you had 8 full hours of sleep. This dewy balm can only be picked up from Mecca stores both online or in store.
Let’s not forget about our brows, they require a little TLC. Comb through some volumising brow gel. I’m LOVING the Essence Make Me Brow (a GREAT dupe for the Benefit Gimme Brow). Pick up this brow tamer from Priceline stores.
Finish off your look with a coat of mascara. My current favourite is the L’Oréal Paris Lash Paradise Washable Mascara. It is the perfect combination of lengthening and volumising and doesn’t flake off throughout the day! Lash Paradise is available at Priceline or Chemist Warehouse.
Voilà! There you have it. Now you’re ready to run out the door AND have time to pick up a coffee on your way out. Seize the day!
