Every season brings with it new shoes, clothes, accessories, and hair trends, but it also bring make up trends too. Whilst you can explore everything from contouring, foundation, to lipstick, one of the most statement looks you can go for, is centred around the eyes.
The eyes are the window to the soul, after all! Adding drama and fashion to your peepers creates an air of mystery, and everyone loves mystery!
For this reason, rocking Autum/Winter’s newest eye trends will make your outfit pop, and upgrade your look from nearly there, to seriously there. When you look at the runways however, some of these trends are not at all for the faint hearted, but this season showed many ‘wearable’ looks, which were very easy to achieve.
Let’s explore four of the best for you to replicate for yourself, whilst avoiding the ones which will make jaws drop for the wrong reasons!
A twist on the classic smokey eye
With holiday season just around the corner, we all tend to fall back on the classic smokey eye look for those functions that we want to pop at. Whilst the smokey eye will always have a place in fashion, this season you can twist it up, by toning it down, just a little. Add in a few taupe shades, greys, and add a creamy shimmer balm to the outside of the lid, to upgrade and add sparkle to an old classic.
This one is certainly not for the shy, but if you can master it, you’ll be seriously in vogue! Instead of laying the eyeliner on the lash line, instead, go a short distance above and draw you line. This means that you will have your lash line, a gap, and then a line of eyeliner, flicked or otherwise.
Heading back to the 90s
The 90s were packed with moody, black kohl eye liner, and the thicker the better! This season twists up that trends, with plentiful kohl, but cutting down slightly on the thickness. Go heavy on the top and bottom, to create drama. Just remember to go barely there on the rest of your make up.
Peach is the way forward
Peach is a summer trend, but you can twist it for Autum and Winter! A subtle sweep across the eyelid will not only add shimmer, but will lighten up a heavy outfit, and keep you on trend. If you want to go further with this particular look, add a peach lipstick into the equation too.
These are just four of the most popular and easy to replicate trends for this Autum and Winter season. As the temperatures slowly fall, and the holiday season is just around the corner, upgrading your eye look with a twist will keep you seriously in fashion.
